Omni-Channel Headless Commerce with AEM CIF & Next.js
Global Healthcare & Medical Equipment Manufacturer • Headless Content & Commerce Integration
Key Outcomes & Performance Impact
The Challenge
The client maintained disconnected systems for marketing content (AEM) and e-commerce transactions (Legacy Monolith). Buyers had to navigate away from educational medical supply documentation to buy products. Additionally, legacy backends could not support native mobile apps or hospital self-service ordering terminals.
Architectural Solution
We implemented Adobe Commerce Integration Framework (CIF) within AEM, enabling marketing authors to drop live product cards, dynamic contract pricing tables, and personalized promo banners directly into content pages. We created a GraphQL API Mesh layer feeding Next.js micro-frontends across Web, Mobile, and POS touchpoints.
Implementation Highlights
- ✓ Drag-and-drop authorable AEM CIF components with live e-commerce data binding.
- ✓ GraphQL API Mesh layer orchestrating real-time contract pricing & catalog queries.
- ✓ Single unified React/Next.js design system powering web, mobile apps, and kiosks.
- ✓ Sub-100ms Redis edge caching for high-density B2B product catalogs.
